Description

The Dawn has almost the exact same length, width, height, and wheelbase dimensions as the Wraith, and it looks like one at first glance. Despite the visual similarities, 80 percent of the Dawn’s body panels are unique. Its narrow headlights, low-slung body, pulled-forward chin, wide track, strong shoulder line, and distinct hips give it an athletic stance. Unique 20- or 21-inch wheels complete the look.

Under the hood, the Dawn actually shares the same powertrain numbers as the Ghost. A 6.6-liter, twin-turbo V-12 engine pumps out 563 hp and 575 lb-ft of torque. The powerplant is mated to a standard eight-speed ZF gearbox with satellite-aided technology. Using GPS data, the transmission can decide which gear to select based on the road conditions ahead.ust like the original 1950s Dawn, of which only 28 were ever made, the new Dawn is not afraid to take a few risks.

Considering that Rolls-Royce sold just 4,063 cars last year, we don’t know if the marque is on its way toward using the term “approachable.” But the Dawn certainly adds some excitement to the lineup.the main attraction of the Dawn is top-down driving, and the ragtop will drop in 22 seconds and can do so at speeds up to 30 mph. And it’s impressively quiet as it lowers, with no mechanical or motor noise to speak of.

And it’s impressively quiet as it lowers, with no mechanical or motor noise to speak of. It’s almost as if Rolls Royce engineers use magic instead of mechanics and the buttons you push simply will things to happen. And once the magically quiet roof has been neatly tucked away, the Dawn really arrives. It has a luxury power boat look to it with the roof down that is mesmerizing..
